Even Though It Isn't Tuesday, I'm Feeling Very Nick at Nite

So, I don't have cable or dish hooked up here in the heart of Dixie (where I am actually within driving distance of a place called Appalachicola, which in my head I hear in the same stentorian tones that Lorne Greene used to use at the beginning of the original Battlestar Galactica--"A shining planet, known as Earth.)

ANYWAY, I've been thinking about the shows that ought to be in rerun that aren't (CPO Sharkey, anyone?) or have been beaten half to death by syndication (God help me, but I can't ever watch The Andy Griffith Show ever again). And I'm working on a piece for the next Barrelhouse about (dum de dum) Get Smart.

Barbara Feldon, ahead of her time. Savvy, professional, able to both bring home the bacon AND fry it up in a pan. So here's the question of the day, Barrelhousers: Quién es más hermoso, Barbara Feldon o Bonnie Franklin?

And the best radio station in America is still KCRW. www.kcrw.com.

I don't think I've ever seen Get Smart (probably because it's not in reruns) but I do remember watching One Day at a Time when I was a kid. Valerie Bertinelli was very hot with that early 80s feathered hair she had going; I remember being kind of in love with both daughters, or maybe just in awe of them, since I didn't have any sisters and at that age was generally in awe of anyone older than me who was allowed to drive cars and go places without their parents.

Didn't Bonnie Franklin used to rock the Prince Valient hairdo? There's really no reason for that.

Wow, I think I'm way too young to answer this one.

Ask me which sister on Step By Step is the hottest, though, and I'm all over it.

The Prince Valiant hairdo was supposed to mark Ms Romano as a liberated woman, cut loose from the strictures of a patriarchal society that had, for too long, forced her to subjugate her own desires in order to be of service to man.

A more pressing question would be why--once she had been cut loose by the husband and decided to start out fresh with her two daughters--did she move to Indianapolis? I mean, they didn't even have the Colts yet.
