Ten-Four, Snowman, Over and Out

Wow, with all this election and NFL football business going on, I just found out that Jerry Reed died.

Of course Barrelhouse readers will remember Jerry Reed as Snowman in the World's Greatest Movie Co-Starring a Bassett Hound and Burt Reynolds, "Smokey and the Bandit."

He was also a Grammy-winning musician and a truly bad motherfucker on the guitar. He blended rockabilly and bluegrass and country and rock, had about 40 hits on the country charts, and played with Elvis, and Chet Atkins and just about everybody in between.

He also seemed like a guy who was always geniunely having a kickass time. There wasn't any of that weight of fame shit happening with Jerry Reed.
